DIY (Kid Safe) Bath Bombs
f you have a child who cannot take baths without fancy bath bombs, then you know how expensive it can get! I finally decided to make them myself. Not only does Maya love fun, colorful baths but she also loves helping her Mama! This is such a fun activity that we do together. Let’s get started!
The original recipe is from Country Hill Cottage. Make sure you check out the recipe from Country Hill Cottage!
INGREDIENTS
1 tsp Young Living essential oils (this is optional - only use if you want scented bath bombs)
DIRECTIONS
Sift the baking powder into a large mixing bowl to remove lumps.
Add the sweet almond oil and blend until the oil is well incorporated.
If using any, mix the essential oils and/or a few drops liquid soap color with the sweet almond oil before adding them to the baking powder. This helps to disperse essential oils and pigments easier.
Add the apple cider vinegar one tablespoon at a time. Mix the vinegar very quickly and thoroughly into the baking powder to avoid a reaction. The bath bomb mixture should feel like barely wet sand and stay together when pressed together in the palm of your hands.
Once the bath bomb mixture has the right consistency, pile two halves of a round bath bomb mold loosely with a heaping amount of mixture. Optionally, put a few sprinkles or dried petals in the mold before adding bath bomb mixture.
Press the mold tightly together.
Using a spoon tap on the mold. Then carefully lift of one mold, turn the bath bomb around and remove the other half.
