Clever Tools to Build Bright Futures

Thank you to LifeSpring for sponsoring this blog post. All experiences and opinions are my own.

It’s super stressful at times but the joy of seeing your children smile makes it all worth it. I’m a mama of three: Tristan, Maya, and Marlee. They are my world and fill my heart with so much love. I couldn’t imagine my life without them... of course, I thank my Husband for giving me my babies.

As parents, we want nothing but the best for our kids. I’ve prayed for my children when they were in the womb and I continue to pray daily for them. Prayer is the most powerful thing, but preparing and planning for their future are also effective ways we can support our children. We strive to introduce them to extra curricular activities, enroll them in great schools, teach them right from wrong, and help prepare them for their future.

Here are a few tools that can help build a bright future for your children:

  1. College/Career Preparation: This is when we, as parents, introduce our children to the world. We educate them, we help them walk, and we show them different types of activities. We prepare them for what they would like to do in the future. My son, for example, loves Math and Football. He’s currently playing youth football and part of his school’s Math League. My oldest daughter loves dance and the arts. She is currently in ballet/tap and tumbling classes. Our youngest, well she’s still a baby, but we are helping her develop by having tummy time and sensory play. This past summer, we brought Tristan, our son, to College Station for a 7 on 7 tournament. Not only did he play, but he was able to tour Texas A&M’s football facility and field. He had his heart set to go to Baylor, his dad’s Alma Mater, but showing him the campus of Texas A&M, possibly changed his mind. We told him to focus on his craft (football), practice, grow, and keep pushing. If he works hard, he could have more opportunities. We have a desire for our children’s future to be successful but we have to help them work towards it.

  2. Mindset Preparation: Our family loves to travel. Trent and I want to show our children the world. Not just for creating lifelong memories with them but to open their eyes to the “BIGGER PICTURE.” Traveling teaches them about different cultures and how to adapt to their environment. We teach them to reach for the sky…. don’t settle and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. We only have one chance in this world, might as well take the time to see it.

  3. Financial Preparation: My husband and I work hard for our children, not just to pay bills but so that they can have something in the future. Trent and I are both entrepreneurs. We live a very simple life and are teaching our children to live the same way. It’s okay to splurge every once in a while, but spending so much money on materialistic things isn’t the best way to go. Investing in assets is the better idea.

  4. Health: Health isn’t just about exercise and eating a good diet. We all know that we should instill a healthy lifestyle with our children. Keeping them active is one and making sure they eat the right amount of protein, greens, etc is important too. We recently just cleaned out our pantry and are trying to incorporate more Non-GMO products. I’m so glad there are so many good “healthier” options that my kids love! Staying healthy isn’t just a personal goal, but it’s a family goal!

  5. Future Generation: My mom said that becoming a grandmother was better than parenthood. She said that seeing her child (me) give birth to her grandkids was one of the best moments of her life. I’m the only one with children in my family, at the moment. I’ve heard that from so many people too! Not now, but when my children reach adulthood, I pray I can experience it myself. I hope my kids can give me grand babies as well. BUT I have a plan in place just in case my daughters or son have trouble conceiving. Did you know an estimated one in eight couples will be diagnosed with primary infertility in their lifetime? Conceiving is stressful in itself and I want to help take some stress off their shoulders. If they’re unable to conceive, there are so many different options. IVF, is one of them but we know that it’s very costly. LifeSpring Insurance Services offers the country’s first and exclusive insurance for primary infertility treatments, offering today’s adults an opportunity to give the next generation of couples affected by infertility the hope and financial resources they need. This unique insurance policy invites today’s families to help our youngest generation overcome tomorrow’s stress associated with paying for primary infertility treatments. I encourage you to take a look at LifeSpring and see if their policy should be part of your childrens’ bright futures.
