Summer's off to a great start!
Today is Tristan’s last day of school... BUT we decided to have some pre-summer break fun at Six Flags Over Texas the other day. It was Tristan’s last full day of school and shortly after his awards ceremony, we signed him out of school to enjoy Family Day at Six Flags. It was the perfect day for FAMILY FUN and his good friend, Ty, even got to come with us! The weather was perfect… overcast and not too hot! If you’re in Texas, you know how much of a blessing that is.
We arrived at the parking lot exactly at 10:30 am, which was the time they opened the park. Lines weren’t bad, even though there were tons of school buses there for end of school year field trips. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait in line to purchase tickets because we got our from H-E-B ahead of time, which is even cheaper than buying it at the gate. We used to be season pass holders, but we decided not to renew until Maya was old enough to actually get on rides herself. We also purchased the fast passes for the boys, because let’s face it, we are not a very patient family when it comes to waiting in line. No matter the cost, we will pay to skip lines as much as possible. We only purchased the Gold Pass because the park wasn’t very busy.
While the boys conquered the roller coasters, Maya and I hung out at Bugs Bunny’s Boomtown for a while. She wasn’t tall enough to ride a lot of rides herself and I was pregnant, so I would’ve been unable to ride with her. Luckily, she was able to play at the huge playground and rode Speedy Gonzales’ Truckin’ Across America by herself, multiple times. She didn’t complain one bit…. she rode each and every truck. At first, she didn’t quite understand why she just could’t get on a different truck right after she rode one but I had to explain to her that she needed to get back in line every time. She enjoyed doing that too! The lines weren’t long, so her patience was not tested. lol.
During our Six Flags visit, we played a few games to win Maya some stuffed animals. Trent was put under pressure to win a PJ Mask toy for her. He played the 3-Point Basketball Challenge game and all he needed was 8 points to win. Did he do it? Watch our video below!
It was such a fun and eventful day for our family. Tristan and Ty got to ride a few rides by themselves while Trent rested in between rides, Maya got her toys, and this Pregnant Belly indulged in food. We ended our day with the Famous Funnel Cakes! I will say that our summer is off to a great start…. Can’t wait for more family fun days!
