DIY Pillow Cases
Ever since Maya’s swim instructor called her a “mermaid,” she wanted to make sure she lived up to that title. 🧜♀️ She prefers to swim with her hair down, just like Mermaids would do. She also thinks that wearing her mermaid swimsuit gives her “swim powers.” But, she’s doing it all by herself! I’m so proud of how much Maya has learned being in the water for the past 3-4 weeks. She is doing amazing and she absolutely loves being in the water. Can’t you tell by her golden tan? ☀️
I found this Mermaid iron-on and I knew she would love it! Of course, I added a personalized touch to it. Her pillow case turned out so good! Don’t you agree? I used the Cricut Infusible Ink transfer sheets for the first time. I cannot believe I waited this long to give it a try! It was super easy and the process is similar to using iron-on vinyl, except the transfer sheet is placed on the mat with the design facing up. I’m already thinking of other projects to do.
I used my Cricut Maker, LightGrip mat, and EasyPress 2 for this project. I also used the Blank Pillow Cover, Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets (Watercolor Splash), Mermaid Iron-on Design, and Heat Resistant Tape. Some of you may not need to use tape but it helps me keep the sheets in place. I can’t imagine not using it!
This project took me less than 30 minutes to make! I can’t wait to make more. Maya thinks Marlee needs her own pillow too! Now that I’ve used the Invisible Ink, I don’t think I’d want to use vinyl on clothing again (unless I have to).
